Renewable Energy
With the cost of energy rising solar panels which help provide domestic hot water have become
economically viable. While fuel bills are rising the cost of Solar installations has fallen making
pay-back times more realistic.
The industry is however still plagued by firms charging excessively and making exaggerated claims for
efficiency and pay-back times.
We are a Herefordshire based group of professionals offering a good service at a fair price.
Listed Buildings
Current planning law restricts the use of Solar panels on listed buildings, however panels may be fitted
remotely at
low level or on adjoining outbuildings. We believe the planning policy is not sustainable
especially where panels are unobtrusive and do not damage or alter the fabric of the building.
Tube Collectors or Flat Panels
Evacuated tube collectors may be more efficient per unit area due to passive solar tracking and individual tubes can be replaced if
damaged. Flat plate collectors may suffer a loss of energy due to conduction however they can be fitted into the roof giving a more pleasing aspect. On a new build
or refurbishment a saving can be made against the cost of the roofing material,
